Sen. Craig has Resigned
Saying he was "deeply sorry," a humbled Sen. Larry Craig announced Saturday that he will resign from the Senate as he pursues legal options to try to undo his guilty plea following an undercover sex sting operation in a men's bathroom.
Craig (R-Idaho) stood with his family by his side, as well as the governor of Idaho and other Republican officials, as he told supporters in Boise that he would do what is best for the people of Idaho by removing an "unwanted and unfair distraction" from the Senate.

Sebelius Bans Discrimination
Against Gays in State Workplace
Gov. Kathleen Sebelius on Friday signed an executive order aimed at protecting state employees from workplace discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity.
“We need to make sure in Kansas that all of our employees are treated with dignity and respect and that the doors of state employment are open to all,” Sebelius said.
The order affects about 25,000 state employees.
Members of the Kansas Equality Coalition applauded Sebelius during a signing ceremony.

First Gay Couple
Legally Married in Iowa
A minister married two men outside his Iowa home Friday morning, sealing the state's first legal same-sex wedding. Less than 24 hours earlier, a judge had thrown out Iowa's ban on gay marriage. The Rev. Mark Stringer declared college students Sean Fritz and Tim McQuillan legally wed. "This is it. We're married. I love you," Fritz told McQuillan after the ceremony on the front lawn of the Unitarian minister's home in Des Moines.
