Dead West Palm Beach Designer
Knew Suspect, Authorities Say
The 20-year-old man police charged with murdering Scott E. Graham was no stranger to the well-known interior designer and gay activist, according to police.
Ricardo David Funes-Valle was arrested Tuesday near Tampa on charges of first-degree murder.
Funes-Valle confessed to the slaying to West Palm Beach homicide detectives, who drove to Tampa to question him. He is being held in Hillsborough County Jail without bail and is expected to be returned to Palm Beach County in a few days.

Film Buzz for April 25
The Miami Gay & Lesbian Film Festival kicks off its 10th installment tonight with the comedy Breakfast With Scot, but that's not the only opener the fest is offering this year. The organizers also are launching a Fort Lauderdale version of the event, running Thursday through May 4 at Sunrise Gateway, 1820 E. Broward School District Allows
Day of Silence Protest
Against Bullying of Gay Students
Some Broward County students are silent today to speak out against the name-calling, bullying and harassment their gay classmates endure.
But the activism of teenagers in about 30 middle and high schools created controversy when district administrators received angry phone calls and e-mails from parents upset that the school system is allowing students to participate in a national event known as the Day of Silence.

Gay Marriage Amendment Limits Rights
My sister and I were born in the same country, the United States. We are 22 months apart, she is the elder. We went to the same schools learning about our rights and how we are so lucky to live in this free country that provides us with equal opportunities. Somehow along the way, I ended up having more rights than her. I grew up, fell in love and got married. She grew up, fell in love, and is prohibited under law from getting married. Why? Because she is gay.

Slain West Palm Beach Man Was
Leader Among Gay Community
By the time police announced Friday that the slain man found in a West Palm Beach home was, indeed, interior designer Scott Graham, his many friends and family already knew.
But the gay community is now left to contemplate the death of three community leaders and contributors in just over a month.

West Palm Beach Police Identify Slain
Man as Interior Designer Graham
Police identified the body found Wednesday morning at 113 Ellamar Road as being high-end interior designer Scott E. Graham.
Graham's family identified him through photos taken at the Medical Examiner's Office.
Investigators won't say what killed Graham, a successful businessman and gay activist. But they are treating his death as a homicide.
