 In July of 2002, the Sun-Sentinel declared that attorney and talk show host Norm Kent was one of Broward County's most influential citizens; a "leading powerbroker" in the community. Over 25 years, he has become known as a passionate and energetic voice for social commitment and concern.
The publisher of The Express, now Florida's largest gay and lesbian newspaper which celebrated its fourth anniversary in January 2004, Norm Kent is an articulate advocate for diversity, the first amendment and human rights.
A liberal commentator who has appeared on NBC's Dateline, Court TV, and CNN's Talk Back Live, Norm brings to the air 25 years of nationally renowned legal and courtroom experience, as a unique firebrand and legal pioneer, whose probing questions, quick wit, and ranting 'Normonologues' provides for compelling and entertaining radio.
 Norm has prosecuted class actions against the State of Florida for mistreating children in its care, won claims protecting citizens' rights to privacy, and successfully argued cases allowing sick patients the use of marijuana medicinally.
 A cancer survivor who now lectures across the country in support of the decriminalization of marijuana, Norm is also a member and on the Board of Directors of the Washington, D.C. based National Organization for the Reformation of Marijuana Laws (NORML).
Passionate about contributing to the community, Norm has also served as a Broward County Magistrate, and the President of the Broward County Criminal Defense Attorney's Association. He underwrites the Norman Elliott Kent ACLU Youth Scholarship annually for graduating high school students.
 In addition to his responsibilities as Executive Director of AIDS Project Florida (APFL) and founder of Athletes Against AIDS, Norm Kent has also served at The Suicide Prevention Council and The Starting Place, a drug-counseling program fighting teenage addiction.
As an attorney, Norm has represented a wealth of other radio and television talk show hosts, including KABC's Al Rantel, WQAM's Neil Rogers, WSVN's Howard Finkelstein and KFI's Phil Hendrie. As a writer, Norm's columns have appeared in national magazines and newspapers.
 His award-winning newspaper, The Express, has released ground-breaking national stories, earned membership in the Florida Press Association, and each week highlights the achievements and accomplishments of South Florida's growing Gay and Lesbian Community.
