 Gables Lawyer Calls National Gay News a ‘Cesspool’
Thompson now also attacks the Florida Bar

Poor Jack Thompson.
If you have been following the legal debacle that is Jack Thompson, you know by now he was nearly judicially reprimanded for filing gay porn attachments in his federal lawsuit against the Florida Bar.
You know by now he has been accusing me and this site of criminally trafficking in obscenity, and has asked that we be criminally prosecuted. He also sought to join me into his lawsuit as a defendant.
You also know by now I will tolerate none of Jack’s nonsense, publishing news stories on these pages which detail with specificity his frenetic and foolish efforts.
Of course, you also know that neither has the judge in this case tolerated Jack’s procedural abuses. In fact, for filing those inappropriate and graphic images with the court, the judge nearly sanctioned him, temporarily referring him to a disciplinary committee. The judge waived that discipline only when Thompson promised, subject to future sanctions, ‘never ever’ to do it again.
In begging for relief, Thompson pleaded with the court: “I was not born yesterday. If the court tells me not to do it again, I absolutely will not.” The judge said he would give Thompson another chance, for now.
So warned that a future recurrence of misconduct will lead to discipline, what does Thompson do?
Act contritely and respectfully to the Florida Bar, who had remained silent while he begged the judge to remove the prospective discipline?
Not Jack Thompson, no sir!
Within hours after the hearing concluded, Thompson struck again, this time stating that the entire Florida Bar should be held in contempt of court for misconduct, not him.
Today, in a letter too hard to describe, he wrote to three United States Senators asking that Judge Jordan be impeached, accusing him of a felony, because he ruled against him by not ordering me arrested. No, really. You can’t make this up.
At the same time, Jack Thompson also found time to file more documents stating that that www.nationalgaynews.com is nothing but a ‘cesspool of porn.’
Let me make this clear again. I won’t let that stand, or look the other way. Yes, there is more news with more breadth that is more pressing that warrants being on our front page. But as the Publisher of this website, my duty is to protect our publication, our staff and our investment.
I have no intention of letting some foul-mouthed father parading himself around as a ‘Christian’ lawyer get away with those comments without being rebuked.
Our editors, Dennis Josephwicz and Bill Meyer, have worked too hard for too long to help make NGN a credible and legitimate news site. I will not sit by silently as some attorney files legally specious pleadings in federal courts and asks for me to get arrested. Our free press gives me a free reign to respond and reply to Thompson’s mad motions, now summarily dismissed by a sitting federal court jurist.
Our site is not about Jack Thompson, and if he had not so maliciously accused me of trafficking in obscenity in federal pleadings, and attaching gay porn to legal documents, he might never have made our pages. But this guy launched a vicious assault on our credibility, and now I am determined to let our readers follow the debunking of this false deity, exposing his strained and tortured logic to all.
The story is not ours alone. It has now been covered by the abajournal.com, gamepolitics.com, the Miami Herald, and scores of bloggers across the country. Why, you ask? Because of how freaky Thompson’s behavior is. The average lawyer generally does not attach graphic pornography to his pleadings. We have even added for your review an image one gaming site created, appropriately making fun of Thompson.
This Christian lawyer has now sent, on separate occasions over the past six months, separate pictures of gay pornography to a Dade County Circuit Judge, the Supreme Court of Florida, and to a United States District Judge. He retrieved those images, he says, from links on our website, from companies that don’t even advertise with us, whom we have no business relationship with. So let’s make this clear. Jack went to gay porn websites and spent apparently hours viewing gay porn, which he then sent to judges and prosecutors to prove he is a Christian, and I am not. Yeah, that makes sense.
As Jack slowly becomes old news unworthy of writing about, his latest court motion truly does expose him as a man in serial self-denial. Now that does not mean Fox News won’t parade him out to condemn a video game or gay life, because television gravitates to the extreme for entertainment. They like monkeys who stand on the edge of branches and scream the loudest. That makes good radio as well as compelling television.
Hardly does it mean Jack Thompson is a monkey. It just means that he screams the loudest. His ‘Urgent’ press releases have become a newsroom joke. Most mainstream journalists won’t touch him. Had he not made us the focus of his attention, we would not have given him the time of day.
But you see it is neither Norm Kent, the Florida Bar, or nationalgaynews.com which is the source of Jack Thompson’s fall from grace. It is Jack Thompson.
Today, then, I come to the defense of the Florida Bar with a wake up call for Jack, hoping this story goes from these pages not just to game politics and its gamers, but to all those producers on network stations that foolishly grant this man a forum within which to preach his ignorance.
Each and every allegation below is factual, true, irreversible, and part of Jack’s checkered legal history..
You see, Jack, it was not the Florida Bar years ago that said you had an ‘obsessional hatred’ with my client, Neil Rogers, a gay man with a radio show. It was a Special Prosecutor, Marshall King Hall, appointed by the Governor to investigate your allegations.
It was not the Florida Bar who issued a restraining order against you back then. It was Circuit Court Judges Geoffrey Cohen in Broward and Phillip Bloom in Dade.
It was not the Bar who testified you presented a clear and present danger to my clients and me. It was a psychologist in a public courtroom, Dr. David Rothenberg.
It was not the Bar who ruled a decade ago your pleadings bordered on ‘sanctions,’ and dismissed your claims. It was US District Court Judge Edward Davis.
It was not the Bar who issued an opinion stating one of your complaints was corrupted by ‘wild and baseless accusations’ this year. It was US District Court Judge Paul Huck.
It was not the Bar who fined you $3000 in costs for filing scandalous pleadings this spring. It was Circuit Court Judge Jeffrey Streitfeld.
It was not the Bar who struck and dismissed your appeal and made you pay $600 for improper filings. It was the Fourth District Court of Appeal.
It was not the Bar who banned you from filing pleadings in a case this year, ordering only your attorney to do so. It was Chief Judge Victor Tobin of the Broward Circuit Court.
It was not the Bar who issued a Rule to Show Cause Why you should not be Held in Contempt in a video gaming case. It was Dade Circuit Court Judge Ronald Friedman.
It was not the Bar who directly accused you of lying to a court, and conduct involving deceit, fraud, and misrepresentation to a tribunal. It was a very conservative principled Circuit Court Judge James Moore of Alabama.
It was not the Bar who said you lied about the FBI allegedly investigating Beasley Radio, the Florida Bar, and myself. It was an FBI agent in a sworn deposition who said no such inquiry ever existed.
It was not the Bar that labeled your pleadings as more personal propaganda than professional. It apparently was yet another Miami Circuit Court Judge, Dava Tunis.
It was not the Bar that did a two-year investigation into allegations you were purportedly the target of repeated harassment and death threats from Beasley Broadcasting. It was the Federal Communications Commission, which, in a seventeen page order on June 1st of this year concluded that your charges were “unsubstantiated and without merit.”
It was not the Bar that nearly threw you off your own case in Tallahassee in the Supreme Court, was it? No, it was the justices finding you attached inappropriate and pornographic pleadings to your filings, something you forgot to tell Judge Adalberto Jordan about this week when you asked his forgiveness for doing the same thing with him months later..
It was not the Bar that just nearly referred you to yet another disciplinary committee, Jack, was it? It was just another judge you falsely accused of bias and prejudice against you.
Are you getting the bigger picture Jack? That maybe everyone else is not the problem? Maybe the problem is YOU?
It was not the Florida Bar who revealed their private and confidential request you go for a psychiatric examination and evaluation last month- or to Florida Lawyer’s Assistance- as a condition of a proposed settlement of your misconduct, it was YOU in an international press release to video gaming sites.
YOU let the world know that the regulatory agency supervising your license had requested you submit to a psychological exam. As if to lend confirmation to that request, you signed your letter to the judges of the Supreme Court, ‘Insanely Yours.’ Then you wonder why people call you crazy? They are simply following your lead.
You sir, are the target of a multiple count, forty page complaint alleging professional misconduct, and you revealed this week there are more yet pending which many of us do not know about. But we all do know now it is everyone else’s fault, especially mine, probably from being exposed to all that gay porn on our news website, which the last time I looked, had about 6,000 stories and less than five homoerotic pictures.
Thank you for the credit I do not deserve.
Jack, your time as a lawyer is too limited to waste on a fool like me.
Ironically, the very processes you criticize daily, from the Bar to the Supreme Court judges you labeled as extortionists last week, have exercised enormous restraint and professional decorum while on a daily basis being subject by you to a virtual non-stop, never-ending series of, vilifications and written assaults and personal attacks. They absorb your blows with the restraint of Job.
However, as I read the Bible, Job absorbed the wrath of God.
You sir, are no god. Instead, your conduct disgraces whoever She may be.
