The Fort Lauderdale area is the fifth-most popular destination nationwide for gay and lesbian travelers, surpassed only by much bigger cities: New York City; Las Vegas; San Francisco and the Los Angeles area, according to the latest annual Gay & Lesbian Tourism Survey released by gay travel specialists Community Marketing Inc. of San Francisco.
