The city of Opa-locka has passed a ban on wearing sagging pants on city property. On Wednesday, the city commission adopted a law that would prohibit pants worn below the waistline.

Commissioner Timothy Holmes said he sponsored the ordinance because he did not want the city's youth to wear their pants too low.

"It's not nice," he said. "It's not respectable."
