The father of a fallen Marine won nearly $11 million in damages when a Baltimore jury decided that the Kansas-based Westboro Baptist Church, notorious for picketing soldiers’ funerals with signs that read “God hates fags,” invaded the family’s privacy, reported the Baltimore Sun.

U.S. Rep. Richard Curtis, R-La., resigned from office after a gay sex scandal was revealed, reported The Advocate. Curtis admitted to police that he had sex with Cody Castagna, 26. Castagna allegedly tried to blackmail the politician.
