As registration begins at 7am, wake up as NBC4 Today In L.A.’s Robert Kovacik and Legendary KLOS DJ Cynthia Fox proudly MC the opening ceremonies. The Walk begins at 9am as walkers gather at the starting line in front of Angel Stadium of Anaheim to begin their 5K journey. Along the way, participants will be cheered from festively adorned water stations along the route, each bearing their own unique theme. Walkers will also get the opportunity to enjoy various bands playing on both the main stage and the OC Weekly Stage located under the Big A.
After the Walk, walkers can stuff their faces in the 4th Annual Pie Eating Contest. The day will conclude at noon with the closing ceremonies. “This year’s Walk promises to be a spiritually uplifting event that will offer moments for reflection while educating people about the history and prevalence of HIV/AIDS in the community,” said Alan Witchey, Executive Director for AIDS Services Foundation Orange County.
Participants will also have the opportunity to sample gourmet food selections from various food sponsors including Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen, Lucky Strikes Lanes, Dave & Busters, Wienerschnitzel, Original Tommy’s World Famous Hamburger, and Bistro 400. "As a restaurant committed to giving back to our community, The Jazz Kitchen is excited to be involved with OC AIDS Walk and will proudly serve GumboYa-Ya to all the participants and hard working volunteers who make this event a great success," said Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen.
Proceeds from OC AIDS Walk will go to benefit ten agencies located in Orange County. These ten agencies assist more than 8,000 men, women and children affected by HIV/AIDS through programs such as counseling, transportation, housing, food and accessibility to medical care.
