A new awakening has come to Carlsbad. It's called Parents, Families, Friends of Lesbians and Gays, or PFLAG for short.

Carlsbad is only the latest in New Mexico to provide an organization for people who may need support to come out or for family members and friends to understand what it means to be gay, lesbian or transgender. Twice monthly meetings are held at a local church in Carlsbad.
