Assault Victims Sue Police, Deputies
They accuse officers of mocking them, failing to protect them
Four alleged victims in a suspected bias-motivated assault sued Rochester police and the Monroe County Sheriff's Office on Monday, claiming that responding officers showed "deliberate indifference" and mocked them with gay slurs.
The civil rights complaint, filed in U.S. District Court, comes as police continue an internal affairs investigation and a separate criminal probe involving four suspects in the assault.
